Cranston Rhode Island Historic Cemetery 005 Fenner/Salisbury Lot
HISTORICAL CEMETERY #: CR005 FENNER LOT CRANSTON RI Location: 25 ft west of PIPPIN ORCHARD RD at TEL pole # 109 3 burials with 3 inscriptions from 1865 to 1908 30 ft x 45 ft in fair condition enclosed with granite posts; sign missing NOTE: James Arnold visited this lot 5 Jul 1891, Vol 2, pg 127, beside the road leading from Plainfield Road to the Pippin Orchard, lot protected with granite posts and iron chains, yard in good order.
Note: Richard Arthur Fenner and Lydia Rapoza visited this site on 23 June 2006 and found the lot overgrown with foliage and unable to be seen from Pippin Orchard Road. This site is in terrible condition. Mr. Fenner could only find one grave due to the overgrowth. Lydia Rapoza had visited in August of 2006 and found the burial yard had been cleared. Update 2008. The owners of the lot are trying to repair the stones and have fenced in the burial lot.



Adeline Fenner Whitaker Aug. 29, 1846- Nov. 18, 1909. She was the daughter of William Fenner Jr and Sarah Ann Wilbur. She was divorced from Elisha Whitaker.(Cranston Cem #70) Her gravestone is inscribed with the word "MOTHER". Adeline was the mother of 11 children.
William Fenner Jr. husband of Sarah Ann Wilbur(buried at Pocasset cem) and son of William Fenner and Mary Mathewson.
George Fenner Salisbury : Son of William and Maria L Salisbury Died October 24, 1865. Aged 1 year, 3 mo's & 7 days. "He was the sunshine of our hearts, An angel to us given. Just as we learned to love him most, God took him home to heaven."
