Built by the Joy Family sometime in the early 1700's the Joy Homestead is a historic quiet treasure in Cranston. This farmhouse, home to three generations of the Joys, served as the nucleus for what was to become an early industrial center for the area. The Joys were involved in shoe making, felt hat making and operating a grist mill. It is 'tucked away' on Scituate Avenue in the Knightsville section of Cranston.
History of the Joy Homestead

Rental of the Homestead is very affordable. We only provide use of the building and tables and chairs.
Food and drink are to be provided by the group renting the Homestead. Due to state law there is no smoking permitted inside the building. Not handicapped accessible.
The homestead can accommodate gatherings of up to 35 people in its large keeping room bracketed with a fireplace at each end. A small kitchen is available for light refreshments.
We have a large lot of land in the front of the Homestead with room for a large tent.
